Drum and Bass

Drum and bass or DnB is commonly called an electronic dance music that we used to know as well as the jungle . The music itself began to be popularized in the early 1990s with the characteristics of the music that has a beat very fast , which is 160 to 180 bpm . No wonder quite difficult to follow the tempo of the music on this one . The term underground music seems very inappropriate towed by it .
At the initial appearance in the UK , the music is usually called breakbeat hardcore music , but after a couple of years later , the title seems quite appropriate drum and bass breakbeat hardcore replace name . Although in the same year a lot of emerging new music such as dancehall , electro , funk , hip - hop , house , jazz , heavy metal , pop , reggae , rock , techno and trance , but still, drum and bass into a champion on that time . Because little carrying shades of underground , so rarely do we find this kind of party in commercial clubs . The event rave parties usually be one that fits medium to listen to the music on this one . If it was held indoors , dark place and not too big usually a favorite .

Perhaps this is the most important element in the history of music on this one , and that is the common thread of drum and bass . If dance music others are still in the range of 130-140 BPM numbers , then drum and bass has reached balustrades 160-180 BPM . The figure was not the start of the era of the early 90 's. Some of revolution also occurred in the drum and bass body itself. In the years 1989-1991 the music tempo is between 125-135 BPM , and in 1992-1993 the numbers start creeping up into 155-165 BPM . The development of drum and bass is quite fast at that time to make this kind of music players started to increase the tempo of the music even higher , up to 1996 up to now begin the music tempo reached 160 - 180BPM that will make you ' mess ' when listening to it .
The lovers of music this one is arguably a bit anti- social when compared to other types of music lovers . So listen to the drums and bass are many who are already busy with himself . As its name suggests , elements of bass and drums is a unity that can not be separated . The drums sound like no rupture and combined with the fast bass makes this music is endless .

Both of these elements are also important too . Because times have really advanced , so affairs make music and play it over entrusted to a DJ . For Sagat this time are rarely we find a person who plays this kind of music with musical instruments . In addition to sound more neatly , of course, a lot of the effects terrifying that can be issued if using a turntable or CDJ though. Not to mention the mixer and effects technology craze lately .
Sometimes a drum and bass DJ also intersperse the music - the music with songs from some hard core rock music . Besides being able to produce and play good music , DJs can also remix and combine one song with another song that will make the party run continuously without having to ' skip ' first. In addition to the hard core elements of music , rhythm hip hop can also sometimes be found in the music , even the DJ was sometimes also do scratch .
After talking about the DJ , now is the time MC . The task of the MC on the show is actually more to arouse the crowd for more adrenaline craze again , but sometimes the MC bit like doing a freestyle rapper when the DJ was playing the songs flagship. Names like Dynamite MC , MC Fats , and Stevie Hyper D has become a legend in the music MC drum and bass . MC on duty here must have a sound that is very loud and has the characteristics of a hard core musician or even a little smelly rappers , because not to when you're ' raving ' on stage inferior to the sound of music being played .

Subgenre

1. Darkstep
Darkstep is a subgenre of drum and bass that fuses elements of darkcore with uptempo breakbeats and ambient noises (similar to those characteristic of neurofunk). Darkstep music is typically composed in a chromatic scale. The amen break, the firefight break, and other breakbeat samples feature prominently. Darkstep comes from techstep. Whereas neurofunk (which also come from techstep) relies on science fiction soundscape and really clean production, darkstep bring back elements of darkcore like horror movie soundtrack or vocal snippets, overdistorted techstep bassline and industrial soundscape. The rhythms are usually more complex and heavy than in neurofunk. Quite often the snare is metallic and ringing, creating a dissonant feel.

2. Neurofunk/Techstep
'Techstep' is characterized by a dark, sci-fi mood, near-exclusive use of synthesised or sampled sound sources, influences from industrial and techno music, and what some writers have described as a "clinical" sound. Although described as having a "techy" feel, techstep's relationship with techno should not be overstated. It shares the technique of creating a high-energy collage from abstract, synthetic noises, including samples, bleeps and squelches: it rarely uses instruments that have not been processed by effects. Similarly, quantized drum-machine kit and percussion sounds are favored over naturalistic human breakbeats
'Neurofunk' (also known more simply and informally as just 'Neuro') is a subgenre of drum and bass which emerged between 1997 and 1998 in London, England as a progression of techstep. It was further developed by juxtaposed elements of heavier and harder forms of funk with multiple influences ranging from techno, house and jazz, distinguished by consecutive stabs over the bassline and razor-sharp backbeats.

3. Liquid Drum'n'Bass
Draws heavily on harmonic and melodic grooves, and samples from funk, jazz, soul, R&B, disco, house and breakbeat, while intelligent drum and bass or atmospheric drum and bass creates a calmer yet more synthetic sound.

4. Atmospheric Drum'n'Bass
Atmospheric DnB is a subgenre of DnB which become prominent in the mid-nineties, although tracks with its traits date back as far as 1991. It distinguishes itself from the other genres of drum and bass by speeding up the breakbeats and reducing their emphasis in the production, and instead focusing much more on the melodic aspects of the track, using slow, warm basslines, clean production and downtempo, atmospheric melodies inspired by Ambient & Ambient House productions.

5. CrossBreed
some may call it also Crossbreed / Core'n'bass / Crosscore
Industrial hardcore merged with darkstep, skullstep, industrial drum'n'bass

6. Ultrafunk
fresh take on drum&bass; which combines elements of futuristic liquid sounds with surgical bass work from the neurofunk style topped up with smashing cut up beats.Mainly pushed by artists Xilent and Yanntek, this sound is definately something new to look out for!
